The PIC - ooohhhh Pictures

View from our hotel room....

Opening Ceremonies and the first shot.....To the delight of EVERYONE, and in particular the Pipers, the "first shot" isn't a rock down the ice...no it's a shot of scotch.

I wish I had the words to describe the unique method one of the pipers used to make sure he got all the scotch...let's just say it drew a big laugh from the 36 teams of curlers.

Hey that looks like.....

Judy ! It is Judy, posing for the camera while waiting her turn in the hack. The ladies did better than us guys, they at least won a game.....

Looks like they may be playing Australia in this picture.

The P.I.C. is all about club curling, good club curling, good club curlers. If you are a BC curler, not in the Super League, not in the elite of curling, this event is for you !

There are 20 Men's Teams and 16 Women's Teams. Approximately 8 slots each for the Men and Women from B.C. The remaining slots go to teams from the United States and Pacific Rim Countries.

Depending on the club you belong to, you may have to win the club and then the zone to get to the P.I.C. Some did and some did not, but as this event grows and the word spreads about how fantastic it really is. you can count on a play down process thru Curl B.C.

Both the Men and Women I talked to from B.C. Clubs said they felt like this was a once in a life time event for themselves. They were honored to represent their clubs and cities and were very impressed with the quality of curling and the quality of other teams and getting to play teams from Australia and China and the USA.

And if that wasn't enough, the fellowship, laughs, making new friends and entertainment was so much more than expected. They wanted to enjoy every aspect of the P.I.C.

My Skip, Scott, wondering what in the heck happened to our game ?? Where did we leave it ??

Casino Nite ! Texas had a pile of money, $2.6 million is what I think Andy counted...and we spent every dime !!

We Texas Men were lucky enough to be seated with these 4 stunningly beautiful women from Okanagan at dinner Thursday evening. They were so nice and so pleasant and ended up in the Championship Round taking home Silver ! What Great Curlers....we have been invited to go to the Okanagan for some Wine tasting....

Who are these guys ? Do they look like curlers ? Actually - YES !! In fact one of these teams stomped us like 800-6...we just kept playing thinking we might catch up. The boys from Okanagan might just end up in the Briar one day....you heard it here first....

You should be able to click on any of these pictures and get the big version. If anyone wants the original picture just email me. My email address is available through the profile.

Richmond has updated the web site with all the Championship Games Completed, just click the title bar to jump to the Richmond Curling Club.

Cheers and good curling....till April 2008 !!
